Please help our friends from Dewey and LeBoeuf

I’m sure that you are all aware of the terrible situation going on at Dewey right now. We feel for the staff who are dealing with the collapse of their firm. In an effort to help our fellow WLUG members and their colleagues in the Dewey IT and Document Production departments, we have offerred to post their resumes on our site.  I hope you will join us in showing our support in their job search.  Please help us to help them by distributing this link as far and as wide as you can ….send it to your HR dept, peers, vendors, other industry peer groups , and post it on your social media accounts.

Let’s try and make a difference and show them what a great community we can be.

Sign of the times?

When a WLUG meeting invitation gets sent out to the membership we usually receive 5 maybe 10 undeliverable messages back. This for the last few years has been the average natural attrition of members leaving or switching firms. This month though we got 46!

That number (combined with all the other depressing economic news and recent law firm failures) scared me, and it made me think about what we as a community can do for any members who have been laid off.  So if you have recently left your firm and are looking for work we would love to have you return as an active member. Come to our meetings and of course use the group to network like crazy! Just send an email to nywlug@gmail.com with your new contact details to get back onboard.

Also if you know someone in this situation, reach out to them and send them our details.  If you have positions available at your firm that would be relevant to our membership please send me the details and we will post them here.
